I was a reporter for KGOTV in 1974 when Patricia Hearst was kidnapped by a terrorist group labeled the SLA. As a result of a serendipitous turn of events, I stayed on for six months as a reporter for the local ABC-owned station, as well as Hearst family spokesman. In my cat-bird seat,within the walls of their estate,I took notes on the daily activities of the grief-stricken family.
