This book is cutesy, but it shows such a spirit of joy and sense of adventure. I'm no little kid, but I think the exploratory wonder of it would be especially agreeable to the kidly sensibility. And even for me, at the end of a hard day, thinking of "Good Tall Mouse" raises the spirits.
The super-cute Long Tail Kitty shows off his hometown and introduces his friends in 5 short stories. I loved the illustrations just as much as Long Tail Kitty's sweet personality. My cat, who also has a really long tail, also enjoyed (sitting on) the book.
This book is about a man who visits baby "elephanties" at the "elephantery" to take care of them all day. In my opinion, this would be a good book for a parent or caretaker to read to their child as it really shows the importance and fun spending time together. Mr. Elephanter makes the baby elephants breakfast, takes them to a parade, and then tucks them in at the end of the story. This being comic artist Lark Pien's debut picture book, the illustrations were very detailed and really brought show more the whole story together. show less

Five tales of varied length about a cat and his adventures. He is friends with a bee, a mouse, and aliens. He helps the bee find his stinger, buys groceries with his friends, and describes where he lives. Small print would make this book hard to read aloud but children old enough to read on their own wouldn't be interested in stories with no plots. For readers ages 4-6.
