After the death of her father, young Emily goes to live on New Moon farm with her austere and proud Aunt Elizabeth. A sensitive and imaginative child, she pours out her soul in letters to her dead father. Montgomery's descriptions of the characters in the story as seen through the girl's eyes are fascinating. Emily has a knack for getting in trouble but comes up with amazing ideas to address each problem that comes up. Enjoyable and kept my interest. The proud Murray family, with their stern show more adherence to tradition, seemed to recall some of my own relatives. show less
