This true crime book gives a quigte plausible explanation for "Butch" DeFeo's murder of his entire family, and is a much more believable story than "the devil made me do it." Written before the hoopla of the "Amityville Horror" at 112 Ocean Avenue, the writers say they experienced nothing when in the house.
