When a terrible storm blows down all of the trees in the part of the forest they call home, Little Bear and Big Bear must find a new place to live, one that will provide them with the berries and honey that they need. Little Bear isn't sure about the move, but Big Bear offers him plenty of love and understanding, assuaging all of his fears. In the end, he comes to understand that as long as he has Big Bear, he will be at home...

A charming picture-book from British author/illustrator Petra show more Brown, When the Wind Blew addresses the common childhood experience of moving house, offering young listeners reassurance, not just that such a move can work out for the best, but that they will always have the love and protection of their parent(s). The artwork is every bit as appealing as the story, capturing the ursine duo in their many heartwarming moments together. Recommended to anyone looking for children's stories about handling change, particularly a change of house. show less
Wonderfully illustrated edition of the traditional Mockingbird rhyme!
Comfy cozy loving illos make it a good choice for a bedtime story. Made me wish I were part of the bear family that Petra Brown created :-)
Excellent book for the older sibling of a new baby. Being quiet during baby's naptime can be so difficult! The worried expressions on the all jungle animals at the thought of brother or sister elephant waking the newest baby elephant are a hoot. Delightful illos and a wonderful pop-up at the end. :-)
This is the story of a young elephant who is told to stay quiet so he does not wake the baby. He tries but because he is an elephant, it is difficult to stay quiet. Along the way, other animals remind him to be quiet over and over. When he is even eating too loudly, elephant gets quite upset. Before you know it, the young elephant sneezes which definitely wakes up the baby. The baby does not cry but instead giggles. The last page of the book is three dimensional with all of the animals show more there. The book, when opened to the last page, giggles. This would make a great read aloud for preschoolers. show less
