Toxic Horror was a short-lived Starlog horror film publication focusing on independent and foreign horror that only survived long enough to compete with newly emerging independent horror film magazines like Slaughterhouse.
Attempting to distance itself out of the gate from the mainstream film magazine audience already dedicated to Starlog and Fangoria magazines, Toxic Horror features articles on female representation in horror films, indie rock bands, horror comic books, performance artist show more Joe Coleman, fifties delinquent crime novels and even short fiction. This more eclectic material was folded into mainstream features covering iconic horror films such as Halloween and A Nightmare on Mainstream, providing the mass market advertising missing from more legitimate indie publications. show less
