Terry uses her book in her short course on techniques to obtain professional quality relable and accurate map data from GPS signals. In the book and course, she explains not just the main principles of primary GPS operations, but sources of correctional signals to greatly improve the data accurracy and precision. She covers the types of correctional signals, both permanent reference based, temporay references, and space based references. She covers the equipment needed to get data mor e show more accurately than consumer grade units and the software types that are in common use to efficiently handle professional data for map construction. I rate the book highly for covering the details. Those details however make for not very exciting reading but they do allow the user to greatly improve quality, accuraccy and precision of data collected and to bring the data into a map most efficiently without the common mistakes ameteurs usually make. show less
