Not as fine a production as "Burning boats." An introduction or at least captions would have helped, I think, but also it simply lacks the concentrated energy of the "Burnings boats," and for that reason seems less suited to the pamphlet format. Possibly people who actually stayed at a Butlins in th e1970s and 1980s would find more in these snapshots than those of us who never visited one eve (though I have read a lot about them).

A few of these photographs also appear in Oxford : the last hurrah, though both publications have the same copyright date so I don't know which has priority. I actually prefer this little pamphlet, even though it's shorter, it's also more concentrated (in a way, the inclusion of photographs from Cambridge notwithstanding). There's something magical about this collection of photographs.

Fun book, but wish it were longer.
