Joon is nervous to start kindergarten. It doesn't make it any easier when everyone at school mistakes her for a boy! At home, she discovers her sister's headband that makes her look like a girl. When she wears it to school the next day, she has a wonderful time and makes lots of friends. When her sister takes the headband back, Joon is worried that everyone will make fun of her again. When they don't, she realizes that appearances aren't important and comes to love school. Perfect reading show more for a child preparing to start school. Illustrations continue story beyond the words and include a mix between full page pictures and single drawings on a white background. Great for multiculturalism as well. This was by far my favorite of the three. show less
This is a book about a young girl who gets mistaken or a boy her first day of school. She thought of ways to make sure no one mistakes her again. This book would be good to read to children who just started school to show them that some people do have a bad first day, but it's not the end of the world. Yoon was completely ok after her first day.
