A good basic introduction, though the writer assumes that everyone threads cards in the same direction and this caused me a lot of confusion initially.
Although many of the patterns and variations described are painfully seventies, her explanation of the basic techniques is pretty solid.
from the middle of that boom in weaving of the early 1970s, this is one of the best basic books on the topic of card weaving. Candace covers history (there have been sets of tablets with weaving on them found in ancient Egypian tombs and Norse bogs), practical setup, and onward into advanced techniques. There was an edition that came with a starter-pack of cards back in the day; these days go look on ebay or google up the TWIST gang of tablet weaving afficionados for cards, which are show more plentiful and cheap (or make a set from a new pack of squared off playing cards). Four (or six) harness weaving in its simplest--by which I mean most easily accessible to begin--form! show less
Good historical information, introduction to card weave, drafts and how to do your own design work. Also instruction on using your loom to tension the warp.
