I’m a huge fan of romance, especially angsty NA romance that’s dark and deep. This book is all that and more. I don’t remember the last time I read such an emotionally gripping book! Maybe never! I was literally right there with Gail the whole time, for every emotional up and down. I was so engrossed in the story I didn’t skip a single word, and I read the whole book in one sitting. Sure it’s a short book, but it’s not that short!

I loved how real all the characters were, it was show more almost like watching a reality TV show! The story is solid and the writing excellent, and I can’t wait for the rest of the books!

I heartily recommend this book to fans of steamy NA romance and dark romance! Fair warning though, the book has some very HOT scenes.

Solid 4.5 star
From the start to finish this was a page turner, you are captivated by the characters Eva being a great journalist as well as trusted confidant to Mark who is a US Military Special Investigator brought in to investigate the gruesome murders. Your are intrigued by Marks headquarters as well as those he works including both US and German counterparts and feel his desperation as well as mistrust of pretty much everyone. You are trying to work out who is behind the killings along show more with the reasoning of why and when things start to hype up and get personal then you are left chewing your lip as things slowly unfold and when everything is finally revealed ... wow yeah wow!

You definitely want to read the prequel Fairy Tale Killer as it give you great insight to both Mark and Eva but it's also a fantastic read and leaves you wanting more which brings us to this book. This book perfectly eases you back into things getting to touch base with Mark and Eva to see what they were up to now and what had happened in the time since the Fairy Tale Killer and how Ava's interest is peaked after a bystanders comment about multiple deaths. This story draws you in and has you show more needing to know who is behind it and why just like Ava and Mark, there are twists, danger, frustrations as well as unresolved feelings and a murder to catch before more die and that is hat make this a page turner! This isn't a short book so make sure you get comfy and supplies near you as you really won't be moving until the very end and then left wanting the next book lol

Mark and his team have a new case to work on after the man believed to be the murder is killed, while Eva does her own investigating to see what she can turn up, unfortunately she also tends to put herself in danger too. I liked how both Mark and Eva's own way of work intertwine together and benefit the task although there is plenty of danger, some twists and a good red herring or two. This is the perfect mix of suspense, danger and some romance to keep you turning the page not only to see show more who the killer is but also how Mark and Eva's relationship grows.
