In this topsy turvy book, the narrator states things that are blatantly false. For example, the cover of the book features the title This Is a Ball while directing an arrow toward a cube. Other mix-ups include a "dog" that is actually an elephant, a "beach" that is a city skyline, and a "bicycle" that is a car. The 'story' moves forward as multiple items combine together to create increasingly absurd scenarios. The illustrations are pretty basic, but that's fine for this type of book. I can show more very easily see this book being a hit with kids in elementary school as a read-aloud. show less
When the narrator reads this book aloud, a loud sneeze scares the letter "B" out of the book! And so many important things begin with the letter "b"!
I could envision this book being a fun read-aloud with elementary school-age children. It makes the reader sound a bit silly (not quite as much so as The Book with No Pictures, but in a similar vein). Kids will be sure to love their teacher, parent, or other adult reading this and sounding ridiculous as they drop letters from the beginning of show more words. While it is primarily meant to be a funny book, I think its hidden talent is in teaching the importance of letters and words. show less

I really enjoyed this book but my mentor read it to the preschools and they did not like it because they were too young to understand the humor of this book. Kids eventually started crying because they got frustrated with the book having the book say this frog is red when it clearly was green. The illustrations were very good with bright colors.
All the B's come out of the book when the narrator sneezes, with hilarious results. The text is interactive, asking the listener to correct the narrator's missing B words. A class favorite among my first-graders
