2322 Legacy of Silence: Encounters with Children of the Third Reich, by Dan Bar-On (read 2 Sep 1990) This is a 1989 book by a psychologist who lives in Israel--his parents left Germany in 1933, he was born in Israel in 1938--who interviewed children of Nazi evildoers. It is quite a telling work, interesting for hearing the stories of what the interviewees had to say about what they knew and how they felt. It had its shortcomings--the questions the psychologist asks are often not the show more questions a lawyer or historian would ask.. But the book was worth reading, though the subject is a little rarefied. But reading about the Holocaust can only be done in small doses--it is too depressing and revolting to wallow in it. show less
