I love Jennifer Peel - her writing pulls me in and sends me through every emotion. I laughed out loud, I got teary-eyed, I oohed and aahed, I stayed up way too late reading. I loved Charlee and her story. I loved the secondary characters. But most of all..... I LOVED THE SETTING!! Oh my goodness, I've never read a book based in my own home before. Okay, I'm from Ft. Collins and not Loveland, but it still counts because they went to Ft. Collins a lot, and I shop in Loveland. How many times show more have I gone to the Chili's that was talked about? CSU campus? Even down to highways and streets. Very cool. I shared Charlee's love of the blue skies and the views of the mountains and the feel of the air.

HOWEVER:
There were tons of editing mistakes in this book. It was like some editor did a good job at the beginning and then just started skimming. Tenses were wrong, grammar was off, and actual words were incorrect. "Plutonic" instead of "platonic"?! Sheesh.
And I didn't buy the ending. (The author emailed me to thank me for catching the typo and had it changed in the Kindle edition.)

But definitely read this book because, at least for me, the good outweighed the bad. I still have a couple of Jennifer Peel books I haven't read, but I think I'll pace myself since I tend to rip through them so quickly and forget about all my other responsibilities.

(It is a pretty clean read with quite a bit of kissing. There are a couple of cuss words, talk of "hooker" shoes and looking like you should be walking down Colfax Avenue and a few other things along those lines.)

As per usual with a Jennifer Peel book, I devoured this in less than a day. And once again, I may not agree with everything the characters do, but I feel every joy and sorrow and am completely sucked into the story. Happy, happy, happy to have another book by this author, and sad, sad, sad it is over :( .
I will have to say that Blake has been my least favorite male lead in all of Ms. Peel's books. I would have dumped him a loooonnnngggg time ago. Actually, I never would have married him. But show more this proves my point, even if I don't like or agree with the characters, I still love reading the books. show less
This is one of this sweetest books I have ever read, many, many parts of it brought tears to my eyes. (I am such a sap) There are many kinds of love and Peel manages to accurately portray so many of them in this book.

Every time Caroline said "Miss Ellie" I giggled a little bit because my daughter is five and I could hear her voice in my head. The whole book was very touching and I enjoyed in immensely.
In the first few scenes of My Not So Wicked Stepbrother I started to literally snort with laughter with the conversation over text message. I really enjoyed the storyline although it did get a little frustrating. Friends who were going to date, the tragedy happens. Move on a while and they cannot date because now they are related by marriage. WHAT THE...can you imagine your love interest is now your stepbrother. Of course, you do get a HEA in this although it takes a while but I think it is show more worth the wait.

The story was fast-paced and the narrator’s performance was brilliant, she kept my attention and her voice was nice and smooth.
