Blood Lust, the 1st book in the Royal Bastards MC: Savannah, GA chapter by Erin Trejo is everything I thought it would be and more. I've read so many of Erin Trejo's books I've come to rely on her to push the limits and she does not shy away in this book at all. Reading her work is not for the light-hearted. There are more triggers than I can list and they can sometimes be too much. I've found myself in tears reading some of her books, they pull at the heartstrings but I still become show more immersed in them.
In this book, you meet Drake who is the club VP and a born psychotic killer who suffered from abuse at the hands of his father. His lust for blood controls his life and he has no problem killing anyone in his path. In this book, he is set on getting revenge against a rival club. He doesn't care what it takes even if it means breaking the rules of the brotherhood. He's chosen his next victim to be Evie, the rival club President's Ol'Lady. Evie is a woman you feel for. There is a lot about her that you don't see from the outside. Drake thought he would take her and rape and torture her until he had the blood he craved like an obsession. It never occurred to him that he might just meet his match. Evie's life hasn't been easy and she's full of a darkness that calls to Drake. He's taken aback when he realizes she likes everything he wants to do with her like the blood play he craves. Will Drake be able to go through with his plan or will Evie rock his world?
I gave this book a 5-star rating and a 5-spicy rating. It had all the elements I look for from Erin Trejo in a dark romance. This was one of the darkest I've ever read and almost too much to take. I admire Erin for being able to write about the heavy situations she does. Not many authors I've read have been able to do that. Especially in great detail. This is an excellent start to a new series and I can't wait to see what the rest of the books are like if this is just the start. show less

This is a bully romance and Knox fulfills that part to the T.
Liz comes to town tired of being on the run, hoping she'd found a place they wouldn't find her and that she would be safe, but the danger follows her. When Knox sets his sites on her, she tries to ignore him but he refuses to be ignored.
For most of the book Knox isn't very likeable, he's rude, aggressive and cruel. He hates her but that doesn't stop him from going after her. He purposely embarrasses her and touches her sexually in show more public with no regards for her wishes. They have 'hate sex' and for most of the book I felt no connection at all between these characters and just didn't get it.
BUT.. there were these special moments of insight into Knox's that gave me a glimmer of what drove Knox and what he was trying to do with Liz. I kept hoping that glimmer would expand and develop but it would just fall back to his bully behavior without a corresponding sense of caring and left me feeling more uncomfortable than invested with this couple.
Liz is a survivor, she starts off not taking Knox's crap and fights him but it does her no good, she
caves in every time. The physical takes over and she seems to have no control over her body's reaction to Knox. He brings out her tears, he wants them and will take them from her.
There are some great moments in this story but there are also these moments leaving me confused as a reader. These characters are suppose to be adults going to college but several times I felt like I was reading about high school bullies and locker room antics, then there's the flip side as Knox appears to be trying help Liz deal with all the emotional and psychological trauma you'd expect from someone only significantly older and more experienced would be able to do.
I received a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/ show less

Erin Trejo might be a new author to me, but she won’t be easily forgotten.
I think I have found my new BFF, Laney! Our heroine Laney has a dark past one that has left her little broken, and a whole lot insecure. In spite of her insecurities she is hilarious. She is able to laugh at herself, she is witty and sassy. I love a sassy female lead! Erin has written a character I want to know in real life! I loved her friends, Steph and Brad, and Sean, Gavin’s brother. The banter between the show more gang is amusing and real. That brings me to Gavin. I love a bad boy with a heart of gold. That is what we get with Gavin. Gavin is a love ‘em and leave ‘em type of guy, yet when he meets, Laney his soul recognizes her. Just like any good, bad boy he tries to fight it for a while. I love that, Gavin loves her music. – “The depth and the beauty of it all captured in her music.” “You’re a little young to write something so hauntingly beautiful.” –Gavin. Sigh there it is, the bad boy womanizer starting to fall. If Ever I Fall, is a great love story, Gavin works hard to mend the mangled mess that is inside of Laney, and she makes him work for it, in doing so Erin writes well developed characters as we get to see both Gavin and Laney point of view. I am excited to read more for this author. I hope that Sean gets a book of his own; I think we need to hear more from him.
This was a quick read, fast paced, well thought out plot, and characters. No long dragging relationship drama or cheating. Great Read!

This book is amazeballs. It is well written, has fleshed out characters, and enough heartache to cause the destruction of several major cities. To top it all off, there is one helluva twist I never saw coming. I loved this book. Now, I would like to see what genre she delves into next. I won’t as skeptical next time. This break from her normal genre was just what the Doctor ordered.
