Tragicomic account of the first two years of the New York Mets (when they played at the Polo Grounds, and not Shea Stadium, hence the title). It's mostly played for laughs, though there is some serious analysis beneath the surface as to the problems that beset the team, as well as a few interesting insights, such as poor teams not catching breaks from umpires. Largely for Mets fans.
