Very skilled storytelling (I would say she's a naturally talented writer, which may be true, but I also can see that she's worked really hard on it) with relatable and illuminating experiences that have been thoughtfully, helpfully composed and compiled for our benefit. She also goes into the inadequacies of the 1993 show more Australian DDA (similar to the ADA in the US), how her deafness impacts her work (in both good and bad ways) as a physiotherapist in elder care, as well as her personal relationships--the impact of hiding her deafness, related anxiety and especially listening fatigue and overall burnout, with periods of social isolation (withdrawing or opting out of noisy events, etc.). show less
