I picked this up because the premise reminded me of [b: How to Say Goodbye in Robot|2741766|How to Say Goodbye in Robot|Natalie Standiford|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328839037s/2741766.jpg|2767429], and I was hoping for a good platonic friendship story. It definitely delivers, but it also had so much more. Lots of delightful fangirl stuff, humor, bad decisions and good decisions, and teen voices that felt authentic. Plus lgbtq representation and a real focus on the anxiety/stress show more that surrounds finishing high school and looking toward college. I'll definitely be recommending it to our teens, though with a caveat that there's a fair amount of alcohol consumption in the story. It's set in the UK where the drinking age is lower, but there's enough teens getting drunk that it might be worth a heads up. show less
I won’t be able to properly articulate how much i enjoyed this book. I feel sad that i haven’t read it until now. Sad for the past me who needed this book the most. Will i ever be the same? A bit dramatic, sure. But i don’t care. This was a fantastic read. And to think i almost dnf’d at the very beginning because i was going in blind and didn’t really know what was happening. I hope everyone one day gets to find a book that speaks to them in the way this did to me.
