Make yourself at home : discover your style and transform your space for inspired living by Moorea Seal
I really enjoyed how personalized the author made this book. She felt very real, and her presentation of herself and her history made me want to listen to what she had to say even more. The organization of this book is great with 6 different spotlights on other women to get different perspectives, and with actual useful, realistic DIY projects. The back of the book includes helpful primers on color and plants. I appreciated the author's genuine interest in helping uplift women entrepreneurs, show more an interest she's woven into how she does business herself. The book isn't just about interior design, but it also acts almost as a motivational self-help book without feeling trite. Definitely recommend. show less
52 Lists for Happiness: Weekly Journaling Inspiration for Positivity, Balance, and Joy (A Guided Self -Love Journal with Prompts, Photos, and Illustrations) by Moorea Seal
I ordered 52 Lists for Happiness: Weekly Journaling Inspiration for Positivity Balance and Joy by Moorea Seal because I enjoyed her The 52 Lists Project: A Year of Weekly Journaling Inspiration. I wanted to keep exploring this idea of a weekly guided journal. 52 Lists for Happiness took on a different tenor for me though. I opted to do the lists every Sunday because I felt it would be a good way to start off the week. I had some struggles this year that sometimes made the lists hard to write show more and other times the lists cheered me up. Focusing on simple moments of happiness gave me an opportunity to remember the good in my life no matter what happened in the world around me. show less
The 52 List Project isn't a book to read, it is a journal to keep, with beautiful pictures and prompts to inspire 52 weeks of journal writing. I can't resist a list, so I just love this. And based on it's universal appeal with every woman who has seen it sitting on my desk, I've decided to make it my default Christmas gift this year.
I'm thrilled with this purchase. I purchased it to celebrate my birthday and plan to do a list a week. Since the book starts with week 1 in the winter, I chose to start with Week 40 in the Fall. That's the beauty of this book, you can create it how ever you want. I love the list ideas (mood-boosting songs, people who brighten your day, favorite things about fall) and the Take Action steps for each week to expand on your lists. It would make a excellent birthday gift or Christmas gift. Thick show more heavy pages allow for the writer to use markers, pens, pencils or paint to create their lists. Plenty of space allows for creativity. Highly recommend! show less
