I waited a bit to write this review because I needed to mull over my thoughts on this novel. So good first, this is a book worth reading, it had a great storyline, the suspense was real, the characters motives were on point. Honestly it was a five star book overall. Loved the end and the beginning, and read the whole book in a sitting. That being said, it was rather short for the topic at hand. While the rushed courting & insta love was annoying, the reasons for it were apparent within the show more story so it made since. The characters all had a role to fulfill, and it was gotten across to me well. Tension was built up perfect, and relations between all the characters were great.
The greek mythology aspect of this book really made me sad/annoyed. It was such a strong story, and I wish the author would have created her own lore. If it hadn't been for this part, I would have five stared this read but it pulled me out of the book, because it made zero sense. I still don't get why it was even added. Laziness? Obsession with it on a personal level? I don't know. But it ruined the story for me. I get that it could just be personal taste, but it was lackluster for me. show less
