This book is an outgrowth of the Task Force of the Native American Comprehensive Plan of the United Methodist Church and is ideal reading for personal spiritual growth or for use within a small group. Arranged in a topical format (values, identity, worship, etc.), ten writers explore their Native American heritage and their experiences within the United Methodist faith tradition. Each chapter is followed by a short list of discussion questions to help readers process their reaction to the show more essays. Do not write this title off as being a diatribe against European exploitation. The focus here is on understanding differences in cultures and on moving toward a point where reconciliation may begin to take place. Included on the United Methodist Women Reading List, this book is moving and thought-provoking. show less
