Sebastien Snow has a couple of problems:

- his boyfriend is firmly in the closet
- their relationship is on the rocks
- he finds a rotting heart under the floorboards of his antique shop
- the detective assigned to the case is a hunk of burning love

Sebastien is also the kind of hero that often knows better but does the thing anyway– keep investigating when the police tell him to stop? Yes, he will. Fall for the hunky detective when he hasn’t quite broken up with his shitty boyfriend? show more Ok, absolutely. It could be enraging, but Poe manages to make Sebastien just the right side of stubborn and appealing. Plus the burgeoning relationship with Detective (the hunk) Winter is all kinds of steamy and romantic. show less
Sebastian is so snarky! And his assistant can dish it right back.

I do love a well-crafted mystery, and this one was perfect for me. The multiple elements are beautifully woven, like a magician hiding key cards as she manipulates a deck to best surprise you. I enjoyed book 1 very much, but this one is even better. And the last line made me laugh even as I said "aww."
I discovered this author about three years ago and I believe I have read almost everything she has written and have really enjoyed each one. Her characters are believable, loveable, and better yet, redeemable. This story is a beautifully written Christmas themed, MM romance tale that is built on attraction, respect, and honesty that I totally loved. Bowen is a newbie to New Hampshire and a 35-year-old music teacher, who gets things started by accidentally spilling his hot apple cider on show more Felix Hansen, the 47-year-old divorced owner of the orchard gift store and café. After that it's just becomes one of the sweetest adventures of the year. You don't have to wait until Christmas to meet and enjoy Bowen and Felix. show less
The book starts with a bang...literally. It presents an awesome set of complicated, competent heroes who deserve each other...even if they don’t believe it yet. Also, the setting was a character of its own, not to be ignored. The affection between Gunner and Gillian develops quite quickly...but after all this is a novella of 148 pages so time really had to be speeded up. Great book with action literally from beginning to end...and a bonus of a little history thrown in... but this should be show more expected from the author that brought us the Winter and Snow series show less
