Just what it says it is, only in the guise of T-G grammar. The British linguists have done it better -- without all the GD transformational diagrams which add zip to what he says, but then, I don't like T-G grammar, although I loved it in 1967. I saw the light by the time I wrote my dissertation in 1971.
