Since the launch of the dancehall oriented series one/two-riddim compilation set entitled "Riddim Driven", containing the hottest versions running in the dancehalls of Jamaica, the series has been receiving rave reviews. VP Records' latest installment belongs to one of their best so far, featuring 16 boomshots across "Pressure Cooker", the newest sizzling riddim from the Big Jeans Production crew, the multi-talented duo that brought us the anticipated "Blue Drawers" riddim. "Pressure Cooker" has an old school bounce, inspired by classic mid-tempo dancehall riddims of the late eighties.
The hot bubbling riddim inspired the featured artists to the max : check out Capleton's Blazing Hot with the Prophet doing a funk inflected vocal chant that locks on the riddim and creates a solid hook and lead-off track. Grammy-winner Beenie Man performs Child Molester and he definitely carries a lot of kick in the lyrics as Ras Moses speaks out against abuse of the youth 'dem. The unstoppable and incredebly popular dancehall duo Tanto Metro and Devonte strike a retro chord with their track Good Love Making which blends nicely with the hard dancehall vibe of the album. Dancehall's first Lady, the incredible Lady Saw puts out one of her best efforts with A Gal A Look. Some of the solo efforts one can't ignore are standout tunes like Mega Banton's Money, Elephant Man's Nah Freak Out and the awesome Way You Love from the talented Little Kirk aka Kirk Davis. Roots killer tunes without doubt are Sizzla's energetic Straight Forward, Jah Thunda's Blaze Everyday and Silver Cat's Strive.
