In an introduction, Chetna describes her travels around India, visiting acquaintances, friends, and family, and enjoying their cooking. She shares their recipes, with her twists (there are some ingredients it's difficult to get in the US or UK, so she makes some substitutions and adaptations). Sections include snacks (often deep-fried), veg, dal, flatbreads, rice, sides, and sweet; back matter includes menu plans, a glossary of US/UK terms, and of course an index.

Many of the recipes look show more appealing - the photography is beautiful - and I'd happily eat many of them in a restaurant or someone's home, but we have relatively few of the ingredients in our pantry, so making them at home would require stocking up on several items. This is a cookbook for someone committed to making plenty of Indian food.

Book title is misleading. More "Baking with a spice twist". Author was a Great British Bake Off Contestant. Recipes look very good and include a range of spices. I would prefer to cook one of her recipes to say the standard cookbook recipe. Chapters: Cakes, Pies & Tarts, Sweet things, Savoury small bites, Breads and Accompaniments.
