I loved watching Jordan Smith on The Voice. While I think that the live performances were a shade better in sheer energy (there was a synergy between Jordan and the audience), these are perhaps a shade more well-done technically. What really comes through is Jordan's soaring voice and expressiveness. Just close your eyes and listen to the music. While I like them all, I think my favorite tracks are Great Is Thy Faithfulness, Hallelujah, Climb Every Mountain (perhaps colored by my memories of show more the show as I remember whispering "Yes" at the end of the powerful performance), and Mary Did You Know.
If you enjoy vocal performances, try out this recording. I don't think you will be disappointed. show less

I really like this CD, but then, I like traditional Christmas music. These songs are perfect for Jordan Smith's smooth voice. Several of the songs have almost a 1940s feel to the musical style and vocalization.
My favorites include It Came Upon a Midnight Clear (totally surprising as it is usually not my favorite carol), You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, O Holy Night (sung gorgeously with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and it isn't an easy song to sing well), and Ave Maria (sung with Maria show more Aleida).
One of the things that struck me was how much Jordan Smith's voice has matured and grown through the year. This is some of the best vocal quality I've heard from him. Kudos for him following his voice and not struggling to fit into a vocal category that doesn't suit him.
The CD does include an insert with the lyrics of the songs. These are so familiar that I think you won't miss much if you opt for the digital version.
If you like traditional Christmas songs, you'll almost certainly like this. Jordan Smith fans won't be disappointed. show less
