For me Oscar and Hoo Forever captures the feel of some of those best loved books I fell in love with in early childhood, such as [The Little Prince]. When I read this to my own children I am suddenly transported back to my Grandparents house on the outskirts of Paris and more innocent times.
Oscar walkes to school alone, not far from where he lives, although he has no friends there. He is bullied and generally ostracised by his classmates. They call him OSCAR HEAD-IN-THE-CLOUDS. What do they show more know! Oscar only has one cloud in his head and that is a very special friend named Hoo. But, one day Oscar notices that something is wrong with Hoo. He is getting smaller and Oscar seems unable to prevent him from disappearing altogether. Oscar hits on a unique solution to cheer Hoo up without letting him free to rejoin his flock. That night they go off on an adventure together that will grant Oscar a way to fulfil his deepest desires and those of Hoo also.
This is a truly timeless book and especially poignant for those who require comfort at night-time. show less
