Barbara F. Lefcowitz (1935–2015)

Barbara F. Lefcowitz has published seven previous collections of poetry as well as a novel and a collection of essays. Individual stories, poems, and essays have appeared in over 500 journals, including The Chicago Review, Prairie Schooner, and The Washington Post. She has won writing fellowships show more and prizes from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Maryland Arts Council, as well as several Pushcart nominations and prizes from individual journals. She holds a Ph.D. in English Literature and has taught literature and writing on a college level for over thirty years.
