This book is the account of a long telephone interview between Alan Moore and Bill Baker in September 2002. Alan Moore initially discusses how his interest in comics and literature developed from childhood reading up to how and when he first started writing comics professionally. The focus is on creativity and attempts to explore how he develops ideas for different projects, with specific examples discussed from works such as Swamp Thing, From Hell, Big Numbers etc. At the conclusion, Moore show more talks about how disillusioned he is with the mainstream comic industry (expanded on in the follow-up "Alan Moore's Exit Interview") and possible projects for the future. As always, Alan Moore is an interesting interviewee and Bill Baker is sympathetic. Much of the material has been covered in other interviews available on-line but this is in extended form (78 pages) and its nice to have in a book format. show less
An interview with some interesting bits of Moore trivia and insight. Unfortunately about half of it is his airing of grievances against the comics industry, which is not all that interesting to read.
