When her mother passes she is left with the pillow and the memories her and her mother shared together. This is a great book to read to children about death and memories.

This book told the story of a little girl going through early stages of grief for her sick mother that is in the hospital. The illustrations showed her mother’s items left behind while she is in the hospital - such as incomplete sewing items. The daughter feels attached to her mothers pillow and finds comfort in hugging it, as it reminds her of her mother. There was a lot of weight in the illustrations. It was a very powerful, sad story.
