I enjoyed the all-queer cast of characters and how they interacted with each other. The exploration of what is and isn't a monster is also interesting and adds a dimension to Rumor and Jude's romance. The ending was a bit disappointing as the author didn't really explain the alliance between Reaper's group and the humans. I would have liked a bit from Eric Mora in way of explanation.
The overrepresentation of LGBTQ characters was distracting. Also, the characters were 2-dimensional and Nyx, for example, is built only upon the emotion of lust and has no emotional depth. Furthermore, the attraction between the two main characters is sudden and unexplained. What's more, the writing in the action sequences is confusing and does not grab one's attention. I did not know what was going on and felt that I did not have an overview of the situation. It was so needlessly and show more boringly descriptive that I found myself skipping pages(eBook form) of content.
I would not recommend this book to anyone. I even ended up giving up on the book when I was 25% through. That rarely happens.

I really enjoyed this book. I must say though, Sox main characters made for an uphill slog at times. Bravo for including an asexual character, a bisexual character and characters with non traditional gender pronouns. Gotta day, that was a bit confusing at time !!!

Overall, I can forgive the confusion because the Tory is sold and I want to read more
