Review: The Rassendyll by David James.

When I first started reading the book it took me some time to get use to the outer-space jargon. I haven’t read many books from thus genre so I needed time to familiar myself with space odyssey. Once I got into the book it didn’t take me long to catch on to the story. The story was well-written and the characters behaviors and dialogue were easy to follow. The plot and point of view was really understandable and the story flow right along.

There was show more plenty of action, adventure, the good guys and the villains who tried to conspire against others within their group. The world of Kleobolus is the planet where the Senator’s son was abducted and murdered by a convicted terrorist who somehow managed to escape from prison. No one knew how he got out… he just disappeared. There were many planets in the galaxy and with help he could be anywhere.

On the same planet there was a great restaurant called, “The Rassendyll” whose first owner was Daynan Raym. He was gifted and his character sounded a little mysterious but many people respected him and thought he ranked high in knowledge. However, he still had enemies out in the space world who hated him and he knew they were coming for him. While he got his plans together with the help of his manager, Augstamp who is about the only one Daynan trusted at the moment. Daynam was a loner and had this way of keeping people a safe distance from him and it was hard for people to have an impressive conversation with him professionally or socially.

However, there is a strong bond coming together with Daynan and Jetta who was obsessed with her plant farm where she lived and had a daughter, Jerrinta who was very protective of her mother. As the story proceeds Daynan’s restaurant was shut down because of some clever loop hole about the food. I believe it was do to jealousy of Daynan success and about bank information that Daynan held back from Veram Whelwond who owned many restaurants on eight of the sixteen frontier worlds.

There are many more scenarios, events, and the battle between groups and individually conquest between enemies that was intriguing to read about. Plenty of weapons, small spacecrafts were used during the main event of the story.
