How can things be divided and what is a remainder? or is it Remain Deer? How can maths be fun?
There is a complete page about prime numbers and remainders, and another about feeling left out.
The illustrations by Marie Hermansson are fun, brilliantly colorful, and delightful.
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school/classroom or your local public library!

The language of the book beautifully describes sounds, listening, and rhythms of weaving. Unfortunately the illustrations do not always match the text and left me feeling disjointed. For example text refering to "foot pedal" joins an image where a foot pedal isn't used. The "Clack. Clack. Swish - pull back" remind me of a large loom while the image shows a loom held in the lap, where the sounds would likely be absorbed into the weaver's clothing.

Fantastic picture book about consent and figuring out other ways to show or receive affection if you are like Rissy and emphatically chirrup, "NO KISSIES!".
This book is all about not liking to get kisses. There are other ways to show love and effecting, and Rissy, just wants other’s to know that. This story is very well done, and the illustrations nicely match. I love the info bits in the end matter that emphasizes not to make a child hug and kiss because just like adults they have body anonymity too. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star read is that while the book tries to rhyme, many are harsh and cadence flows, then stops, show more then changes. Makes it hard to read aloud to a large group of kids. show less
