'Secrets of a Chalet Girl' is a romantic love story full of angst and heat, sensitively written with likeable characters. Great to read on the bus to work but it may make you blush.
Alcohol fuelled truth or dare is a living nightmare for shy Flora the newest chalet girl. Emotionally shattered from her last relationship kissing a stranger is not what she needs. Unwilling to lose face or spoil the hen night Flora chooses sexy Zac and her world explodes.
Persuaded to show more spend the night the sexual interplay between Flora and Zac ignites as they play their own x-rated version of the game. Flora loses her inhibitions as she gives into Zac's sensual loving but she runs in the morning when her fears return.
Flora and Zac's story is full of torment. Zac comforts Flora when her old life intrudes and she seeks the oblivion of his loving. Flora and Zac deserve their happy ending but will they ditch past guilt and risk the unknown?
I received and ARC from Harper Collins UK Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review. show less

The novella starts out with a gratuitous boob flashing contest and it goes down from there. Holly is working at a ski resort to run away take some needed time from the domestic problems back home. What problems there are, I don't know, because the book never tells us.
It also never tells us about the romantic male lead. He has no characterization. It just jumps right into doing naughty things. Holly has no sense of this guy or who he is before letting him explore interesting crevices. Just show more that he's her boss. She's physically attracted, but that's it.
The girl's characterization is all wrong too. I can't believe someone who likes control (as the author is fond of constantly reminding us) would tolerate all this "wildness". And I can't believe her boss would jeopardize his position by sleeping with one of his new employees (although maybe it's different in England/Switzerland/wherever this takes place). It reeks of "Red Shoe Diaries".
It needs more characters and better explanations for the non-conflicts that arise. It hand-waves plot developments, like her Facebook "being hacked", without explanation or characterization of the enemy. It's just there to provide a little more filler. show less

Daisy’s French Farmhouse: A gorgeous summer escape wrapped up in a new romance book for 2022! (A French Escape, Book 4) by Lorraine Wilson
A romantic getaway from scorching heat.................
Daisy's French Farmhouse by Lorraine Wilson offers relief to our heart in this summer with its beautiful plot. The story narrates itself around a Daisy who wants a second chance in her love life. The plot has few characters and too many dogs, which is kind of cute. If you are looking for a book to relieve you this summer, then this is for you.
I would like to give the book 4 stars. Thanks to Rachel's Random Resources, One More Chapter and show more Netgalley for providing me an opportunity to read and review the book. show less

A short and very sweet story, a sort of bonus sequel I think, which is enjoyable enough for you to want the original without it spoiling your enjoyment of this. Poppy is loving being with Leo, but her mother calls it a holiday fling. Is it? Or will Christmas with him and his family cement their relationship? Fun and festive.
