I thought this was a good book to have because it is an anthology to poems that range from Shakespeare to nursery rhymes. Without breaking the bank it is a good book to have for easy access to some good pieces of literature. A way to explore and later go into depth with a author or style of writing.
The name doesn't suggest that the poems are gender bias, but it also presents some discussion on why there was a need to name it "for Girls". Good topics to discuss: generations of readers, show more gender, poetry, pink a tuff color or not, significance placed on colors, Frost, Dickinson, Hughes, Silverstein show less

I really like the different genres within this book. Everything from animals, to environmental science etc.

Anthology of poems (Shakespeare to Dickinson) for girls, no pictures, might have to already enjoy reading poetry to read this book, arranged in themes girls would enjoy reading (imagination, animals), gives a voice to girls
