Hers was everything I wanted in a sequel and more. After finishing Mine, I knew I was hooked on the Blood Ties series, but this second book took the intensity, the passion, and the emotional stakes to an entirely new level. A.K. Rose has such a gift for writing stories that are dark, addictive, and filled with complicated, unforgettable characters—you can’t help but lose yourself completely in their world.
What I loved most about Hers was how much deeper it went into the relationships. show more The push-and-pull dynamic that started in book one absolutely exploded here, and the tension had me on edge the entire time. The romance was passionate, messy, and all-consuming—exactly what I want in a dark romance. Every interaction felt like it carried the weight of everything that came before, and every moment of vulnerability between the characters was like a knife to the heart (in the best way).
The heroine’s journey in this book was incredible. She came into her own in a way that felt both empowering and believable. Her strength, even when she doubted herself, made me root for her with everything I had. And the hero—oh, he was even more magnetic here. Dangerous, flawed, but with just enough glimpses of softness and devotion that I couldn’t help but fall harder for him. Their connection felt inevitable, even when the world around them seemed determined to tear them apart.
The pacing was excellent—fast enough to keep me glued to the pages, but with plenty of emotional depth to make me really feel the story. The twists and turns had my heart racing, and there were moments I literally had to pause and catch my breath. A.K. Rose doesn’t shy away from the darker edges of love and loyalty, and that’s what makes her writing so powerful—it’s not neat or easy, but it’s unforgettable.
What also stood out was how seamlessly this book built on the foundation of Mine. The stakes felt higher, the characters felt richer, and the world felt even more dangerous and alive. It didn’t feel like “just” a middle book in a series—it was a story that mattered, with its own arc and emotional punch, while still setting up what’s to come.
By the time I reached the ending, I was left both devastated and desperate for the next installment. It wrapped up enough to satisfy, but it left me aching for more in the best way. That’s how you know a series has its hooks in you—you’re already thinking about the characters long after you’ve closed the book.
Hers was a dark, passionate, and utterly captivating continuation of the Blood Ties series. It’s a story of desire, danger, loyalty, and love that refuses to be simple. Five brilliant stars—I’m completely addicted, and I can’t wait to see how this series continues to unfold. show less

Mine was such a gripping and addictive start to the Blood Ties series! From the very first chapter, I knew I was in for something dark, emotional, and full of tension. A.K. Rose pulled me right into a world of dangerous secrets, forbidden attraction, and high-stakes drama, and I honestly couldn’t put it down.
What really hooked me was the atmosphere. The story has this simmering intensity that never lets up—whether it’s the suspense of what’s happening around the characters or the show more crackling chemistry between them. Every scene felt charged, like something big was about to happen, and that sense of anticipation kept me glued to the page.
The romance was everything I hoped for in a dark, forbidden love story. It’s messy, complicated, and all-consuming, but that’s what made it so compelling. The push-and-pull between the characters had me both frustrated and swooning at the same time, and when they finally gave in to what was between them? Fireworks. What I appreciated most, though, was that beneath all the steam, there was a real emotional core. You could feel the vulnerability behind the walls they tried so hard to keep up.
The characters themselves were layered and flawed in ways that made them feel real. I loved that they weren’t perfect heroes or heroines—they made mistakes, they wrestled with guilt and fear, and they sometimes hurt each other. But that’s exactly what made me root for them: I wanted to see them grow, heal, and find a way to be together despite everything stacked against them.
The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pacing was uneven in a few spots. There were moments where the story slowed down with too much inner monologue, and I wanted the plot to push forward a little faster. That said, those lulls were minor compared to how much I enjoyed the overall ride.
By the time I reached the ending, I was completely hooked and already desperate for book two. Mine set up the series perfectly: enough closure to satisfy, but with so many threads left dangling that I can’t wait to see where it all goes.
Overall, Mine was an intense, emotional, and seriously addictive start to the Blood Ties series. If you love dark romance with forbidden vibes, flawed but unforgettable characters, and just the right mix of angst and heat, this is a must-read. Four stars from me, and I’m diving straight into the next one. show less

Ours was such an intense, emotional, and addictive continuation of the Blood Ties series! By the time I got to book three, I already felt completely invested in these characters and their tangled, dangerous world—and this installment delivered all the angst, passion, and high-stakes drama I was hoping for. A.K. Rose really knows how to write a romance that’s equal parts heart-stopping and heart-melting.
What I loved most about Ours was how much the relationships deepened. The show more push-and-pull tension that had been building in the earlier books finally exploded here, and it was so satisfying to watch the characters stop fighting what was between them and start figuring out how to hold onto it. The chemistry was off the charts—intense, messy, and all-consuming—but what stood out for me was the emotional connection beneath the heat. There were moments of vulnerability and raw honesty that made me ache in the best way.
The stakes also felt higher in this book, and the sense of danger really amplified the romance. Every decision carried weight, and that added such urgency to the story. The twists kept me on my toes—I was never quite sure who to trust or how things would play out, which made it impossible to put the book down. A.K. Rose balances action and romance so well; even when the world is dark and brutal, there are glimmers of tenderness that remind you what the characters are fighting for.
That said, the reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that at times, the pacing felt uneven. There were sections where the tension dipped or the internal monologues dragged a little, and I found myself wanting the plot to move forward faster. A couple of secondary character arcs also felt underdeveloped compared to how rich the main romance was. None of this ruined the story for me, but it kept it from being a perfect read.
Still, the ending was worth every second. It tied together so much of what had been building while leaving me emotionally wrung out in the best way. I turned the last page with a mix of relief, satisfaction, and the kind of lingering ache that only comes from being truly invested in a story.
Overall, Ours was an incredibly strong third installment—dark, passionate, and emotional, with a romance that feels both forbidden and inevitable. A.K. Rose continues to deliver characters you can’t stop rooting for, no matter how flawed or broken they may be. Four stars from me, and I can’t wait to see where the series goes next. show less

4 stars
This is definitely dark and twisted. As of yet, I see nothing redeeming about these four men. They are pretty hypocritical as well. The authors are going to have their hands full redeeming them in the next part because without it this isn't a dark romance and instead would fall into more of erotic horror because there isn't anything romantic in it.
Even though the characters are sleep upside-down bat crap crazy, the storyline was intriguing. I wanted to see how Kate was going to get show more out of this situation. show less
