Light enjoyable reading except for the few mistakes. The book describes how locomotives were developed and build at a high level, but not what actually makes them work or even how to make then run. For example, the concept of transition is mentioned but never explained.
Very clear exposition. Naturally flows from one topic to another. I like how Wilson gives more than one way to do things.
Basic Model Railroad Benchwork: The Complete Photo Guidegives a lot of useful information and instructions for many different layouts.
