Without a doubt....ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN BRILLIANT end to this series! The Darkness, and the Chief have vastly underestimated Noelle and her guys!!! Noelle was put through the ringer in this, and became the person she was meant to become. I didn't think her guys would fear anything.... Until her father showed up LOL. My heart jumped for joy revisiting Noelle's family from LOST ROYALS series! This is the ultimate good vs evil, and every page, every round was brilliantly done! Sheer perfection, show more and an epic conclusion. show less
YOWZA this series just gets better and better and better. If you think Evie has had a rough go of it before, then hold on tight.... Everything leading up to this book was cake compared to what happens. Evil incarnate in form of Sovereign makes an appearance and crushes her soul... The bigger shocker is just how and why the creep came to be in town. In typical fashion we are in store for some jaw dropping moments. In my mind REDEMPTION is the key to this chapter of the series. My fingers are show more crossed that due to actions of the young in this particular book, that some of the so called adults take a page. I was shocked and disheartened by actions of some here. Evie rises to her mantle as Queen... More and more we see why her father Noah decreed she would take over if he passed away. Friendships strengthen, family reveals who they are, bonds are formed and alliances made. Buckle up for this is one rip roaring ride. If you haven't read the first two books in this BRILLIANT series yet, run... Don't walk to read them first. This is most definitely NOT a stand alone book, and one needs the back story to understand everything. I'm guessing all the pieces in this huge chess game have yet to be played. I for one am hoping Evie finds a way to bring her brothers back to cement her family. For she will need everyone she can to help her through what happens. Thankfully Evie has a gift if seeing a persons true heart and soul, and is wise beyond her perceived years. I long to ser the monarch she is quickly becoming. show less
What a fitting end to this exciting series. Tons of excitement, twists, turns, magic and most of all LOVE. Evil definitely comes into her own as the Queen. Will Nick overcome his urge to kill her unborn child? How will Evie, her family, and the town battle the Soverign? There are definitely a few surprises thrown in, and trust me they're well worth reading!! I can honestly say that I've LOVED each and every book.within this exciting series. Who would've thought of a hybrid wolf/dragon.... show more genius!! The theme of love woven throughout these books so strongly....romantic love, love of a mother, siblings love, first love, love for the pack....all strong in this tale. I for one will definitely read future books by this talented author!! And maybe we will see Evie, Liam and their child pop up as guest stars in a future story. show less
I love when an author takes the time to build the world and characters in their books. This author did exactly that. She didn't rely on sex to hold the book together but instead developed the relationships and made the world come alive for the reader. This land that the school is on seems wild, beautiful, peaceful but yet dangerous all at the same time.
I found the school ceremonies interesting. Of course, they might have to wait before doing another pinning ceremony...LOL. As far as schools show more go, it seems like your everyday paranormal school.
The island and the firekeepers are what has me most curious. What are the firekeepers protecting the students from? The firekeepers themselves are intriguing and each with their own unique personality. Their symbols are talked about but not as much detail given as everything else in the book. I am sure there is a reason for it and I can't wait to learn what the symbols mean and how their "hive" goes forward. I do think Kai might be my favorite firekeeper at this point but I have a feeling that might change as the series goes on.
Noelle herself is an interesting heroine. She seems determined to follow the path she set for herself. However, she is worried about her first shift and how it will go. I love that she is smart enough to plan ahead for any unexpected issues. She is concerned more about everyone else than herself which makes like her even more. She has me curious as well. Now that she has completed her first shift, what changes will she undergo? Also, how does she feel about her new role in the "hive"? I have so many questions left and can't wait to see where this series leads. show less
