This was amazingly real, and I adored it. I loved the demisexual rep here for Alex, and it made so much sense for how he fell for Mitch (who was an absolute annoying sweetheart throughout). Both of their backstories were so great along with those around them as well; the character development here is superb. I’m immediately jumping into the next in this series (hallelujah that the library has all of them), and I’m so glad to have found this author (thanks to SBTB as per usual).
I loved everything about this one. Tay and Dakota had such an amazing connection with each other, and they actually had to work toward their HEA. They each had their own dreams too (Dakota’s cakes and Tay’s art), and their support of each other was so great. Andy was an adorable moppet which are the best kind (instead of annoying moppets). Finally I loved how Tay had trouble with his chosen educational path and how it affected him as well as his decision to reconsider it down the road; show more it was all very real which is a reason I love how Aislin writes her characters. show less
If there were ever a character who would have benefitted from therapy at literally any time in the prior six years, it's this guy. His and Mitch's mother is the absolute worst human I've come across in awhile and the chokehold and control she's had over Dan in his life are horrible. I do not agree with his willingness to keep her in his life especially after her last attempt at blackmail.
Ash and Dan made me crazy because they wouldn't just have the conversation. They spent so much time show more arguing about something that would have just made sense if they had the talk early on. EVERYONE told Ash to ask what happened and he acted like he knew so much better when he did not. show less

This was wonderful and a fun change from all the author's other reads about hockey players, and I enjoyed seeing how Marco and Las came together and (eventually) communicated to make their relationship work; also the scenery descriptions and place setting was amazing. It was nice to see how Marco wanted something different than what was expected and how he slowly went around making the change for himself; it was a lovely contrast with Las and all his planning, but I could definitely see how show more their HEA will work for them both down the line. show less
