Dark, steamy, and a cliffhanger that might just make you scream. I don’t think they cover what happens when your enemy not only kidnaps you, but turns out to be your fated mate - but Naya certainly got a crash course in it when Akoro steals her back to his kingdom. Speaking of Akoro...dark doesn’t begin to cover it. This isn’t a bad boy, this is a man who has a darkness in him so deep, that Naya is nothing more than a possession, and a means to an end. Naya may be struggling with a show more lot, but she’s strong and determined to do whatever she can for the people she’s been stolen from. I got so wrapped up in these two, that I quickly lost track of time. (Seriously, read it in one sitting, just could not set it down). If you like (really) dark, spicy romantasies, this needs to be your next read. show less

Book five is this fantastic Omegaverse series starts almost immediately in the aftermath of its predecessor.
After the shocking finale of the last instalment, I was gagging to continue with this.
It was quickly apparent that Malloron was distraught with what his own actions had brought in relation to Amara and desperately wants to fix his mistake: he also realises that she is it for him and is also his fated mate.
Not that this is holding much weight with Amara as she has now lost the small show more amount of trust she originally had for Malloron.
Malloron himself is unapologetic in his own behaviour and actual intention and just wants Amara to admit she is his: Amara, of course, is fighting him every step of the way.
I must admit I was getting quite frustrated with Amara’s whiny behaviour and refusal to compromise: Malloron was actually being more open and affectionate here.
I just wanted her to get a grip and be honest with her self about her own internal wants and also just to realise that yeh Malloron is mainly a product of his unusual upbringing and certain conditioning from his father and maybe judge him to a slightly different standard because of it.
His childhood and lack of healthy role models and relationships have left him with a warped moral compass and his way of dealing has always been to manipulate and cajole.
This is his default function and Amara needs to get on board with this if these two are to move forward.
I actually felt a trifle sorry for the king here when he was purring and trying to bring Amara some comfort.
So here we have that much anticipated purring and knotting that I have been eagerly waiting for and all was going swimmingly until everything went to hell in a handbasket.
Didn't see that one coming at all: what a finale.
I really don't know how we are going to recover from this one: a fantastic finish.
This is one series I can hand on heart highly recommend to you.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Reign To Ravage (Myth of Omega, #5).
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

“Scars of His Wrath,” by Zoey Ellis

Naya is a beloved omega with magic, her people wait for the day she reigns and protect the people, but she suffers from trauma with a tragedy in her past. The key to getting rid of her memories relies on finding her fated mate. No one seems to light the mated bond despite her search until she is stolen. Kidnapped by Akoro, an alpha king from a distant land bent on taking over her world. Naya is determined to protect her kingdom, but the mating bond show more keeps getting in the way.

This book gave me serious Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones vibes. A barbarian kidnaps princess who is sweet and naïve. I loved the entire concept of the book. The romance is intense with the “you do what I say, when I say” vibes but with the omega’s desire to obey against their own will rules. I can’t wait for book 2. 4 out of 5 stars.

-Multi POV
-Magic
-Omegaverse
-Barbarians
-Enemies To Lovers
-Kidnapped

Thank you for the ARC.

Own To Obey (Myth of Omega, #7 ) starts a new chapter and a new Alpha/Omega pairing.
Visiting tribe leader Kardos who we previously met was promised an Omega to take back to his lands: that Omega is Shaya who has been hiding in plain sight.
So book Seven in this series starts exactly where we left off in its predecessor and almost immediately here I was engrossed and committed to the unfolding drama.
Shaya after willingly trading herself in place of her sister is determined to stay strong and show more not be broken by her new circumstances in life: but it's not long before the reality of her new situation really starts to hit home.
So, this was quite savage and brutal at times and I really felt for Omega Shaya: her confusion and bewilderment of her current situation all made much worse by the language barrier and treatment she is receiving from tribe leader Kardos.
He, in turn, thinks that he needs to do this to help her accept her fate and place with his people: that he is training her in the ways of his tribe and culture.
There were certainly times here that I hated Kardos just as much as poor Shaya.
It was such a struggle at times to really comprehend his true feelings towards Shaya: beyond the obvious that is.
He was also king of the mixed messages and as soon as I realised what he actually intended when he reached home I was just then just waiting heart in mouth for the dreaded and expected fallout.
My heart was breaking for poor Shaya when she finally realised what he had done and I wanted to personally knock Kardos out for being such a bloody turd.
I was engrossed from start to finish here and read this in one entire sitting.
Really can't wait to read the next book here so much did I enjoy this.
On a final note please be aware that this story is very dub-con in nature and please do avoid if this is a tall an issue for you.
