This just missed out on a 4 star as I thought for a quick read there was loads of steamy scenes where as I would have liked a bit more time spent on the story. In saying that it was still a great quick read about insta love, a strong alpha male and a plot that brings up some good twists and keeps you hooked until the end.

NOW, this is how I want my 1% MC romance to be written. The darker and grittier the better. Add in some vengeance and retaliation and I am all in. This series has been hit and miss for me. Some have been really good and others have just been meh. However, I am starting to know the random names that have been dropped in the books and recognizing when they show up where they are from and what their story was which I really like.

If an MC with a trigger warning is your thing, especially one that show more isn't cheesy, then this book is a must-read. Great transitions, strong characters that have been through hell, a purpose for the story itself. one, if not my favorites of the whole series that I have read so far. show less

I want to start by saying that I've never really been into the MC-type series of audiobooks. The Hellbound Lovers have changed my mind! Lots of sexy men who are badass and protective of their women. Maybe a little rough but know what family is. Did I mention sexy?
This collection contained four stories, Wolf, Grayson, Riggs and Cain. Each one relatively short but included enough story to make you care about the couples. I also like that their is an overall story that is told throughout each show more of the titles. As I listened through I kept changing my mind as to which one was my favorite. Each man had their own qualities and by the end, I fell in love with them all.

Narration is by Rodney Falcon. I don't think I've ever heard him before. WOW. PERFECTION for this series. So often when an entire story is narrated by a man the female parts end up sounding like a high-pitched crazy person. Not the case here. This narrator knows what he is doing and I want more of it.
Cant wait to listen to the next set of books and get to the resolution of the overall story. Not to mention meet the rest of the sexy Hellbound Lovers. show less

Crimson Syn's latest Royal Bastards MC: New Orleans Chapter book is #7, Tormented By Regret. It's an off-limits age-gap paranormal romance full of kink and triggers. Crimson always gives us dark stories full of smut and this one is no different.
Whisper is Spectre and Raven's daughter and like her mother a shifter. She's a rebel by nature and fears being stuck in a cage of any type so she lives a life of solitude to ensure her secret never gets out. When she heads for Washington where her show more mother is Powertrain is sent to intercept her and bring her back to New Orleans. It's an order he doesn't want especially when he has to knock her out in order to get her on the plane. I won't spoil what happens but they end up stranded and that's when Powertrain finds out an old enemy is after him for revenge and now has Whisper in his sights because she is his. Can Powertrain save her from his enemy and himself from her brother Macabre?
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I loved Whisper and how she doesn't hold back ever. If she wants something she gets it, like Powertrain. No matter how much he tried to talk himself out of it he fell for her hard. He's just the type of man Whisper needs by her side to support her and let her fly, not hold her down, caged. Next in the series is Tick Tock Boom and I can't wait to see what happens with war on the horizon for the Royal Bastards.
