Linux Security Cookbook must have been one of the earlier O'Reilly books that I purchased. I'm sure I've referred to several of the recipes over the years. In deciding to read this cover-to-cover after all this time, while dated and obviously not comprehensive, it's actually a pretty good security primer for any novice wanting to get familiar with tools used for Linux from a more security-minded standpoint.
Although now (2006) a bit long in the tooth, this first edition is still a solid introduction to SSH concepts and configuration. I imagine the second edition is even better.
Great book for understanding how to run programs on the Linux operating system. Command line is not dead yet, so this is good for picking up the bare minimum to get by. My only gripe is that this book doesn't teach anything about SCREEN. This is a must have for running multiple processes in the background without closing on logout. See this IBM tutorial for more: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/aix/library/au-gnu_screen/
A nice overview of how to use a wiki and some good editing techniques, but I would like to see more in-depth detail about administration.
