This author's prose is so good it's downright nourishing.
I wasn't sure what to expect from Run For Your Life--the opening scene was AMAZING. I guessed (knew) what had happened, but wow, that last scene is genius. We all should have such friends, just for one element of it.
If you have yet to try this author, I envy you. I've yet to be any kind of disappointed.

What a sweet romance!
I've admired this author's work before, so I hoped, but this is better than I expected. I loved each main character and all the side characters, I loved all the art talk, and how thoughtfully the author treated each element, and how real the friendships felt. It is low-key in the best sense, perfect for when you need sweet and some angst but no major challenges. It feels very personal, and accepting, and I loved it.

Although I liked this story, it is NOT a romance. It's a dalliance. The one rule for a Romance is a happy for now if not a happily ever after (HFN, HEA) ending. This is, rather, a chapter in a young man's life, no more than that. But, if you're in the mood for something like it, it's pretty perfect.
This is a stunningly good short story, unique and powerful, cleverly done, deceptively deep. Go spend a dollar and read it. Worldbuilding. Subtlety. The kind of cleverness that appears simple. Inclusive, strange, emotional, moving. In so few pages. It deserves many more readers.
