Complexity theory, self-organized criticality, and such. Seeing the words "The physicists' dream of obtaining dominion over nature ... is thinly disguised Christian theology. It is religion that has swapped its vestments for a lab coat." on p 31 almost made me stop reading, but this kind of utter rot only appears in that one place.
