Quickie Review-May Contain Spoilers, Fair Warning Upon Reading This Review
Control Me was a book that I was eager for, especially after seeing their interactions in the first book of the series. But I will be honest in that the heroine was super annoying. I really wanted to love her but she just came out as being almost harassing the hero sexually and it just rubbed me the wrong way at times. I really enjoyed the plot of the story and I did feel like the PTSD aspects of this was done mostly show more well. There were some elements to it that could have been implemented a bit better. I had really high hopes for this one as the other books in the series I have really loved, but it just fell flat for me. But I did enjoy how the conflict became resolved in the end. Loved how our hero is connected to her previous series with the training academy. show less

Synopsis (SPOILERS AHEAD)
Beautifully Destroyed picks up the emotional torch from Beautifully Hurt and absolutely wrecks you in the best way. This book centers around Jesse Carter, a man haunted by deep trauma, and Kayla, a woman just trying to live with the pieces of her broken past.
From the very beginning, you know this isn’t going to be an easy story. Jesse is introduced as a man closed off to the world, drowning in guilt, anger, and pain over events he doesn’t talk about. He doesn’t show more want saving—but he needs it. And when Kayla comes into his life, she doesn’t try to fix him. She sees him.
Jesse and Kayla both carry emotional scars, but their wounds mirror each other in a way that’s tragically beautiful. The book slowly unravels their pasts, revealing secrets that hurt, including a traumatic event that still controls much of Jesse’s self-worth.
Their love is not instant. It’s carved out through tears, arguments, brutal honesty, and the kind of intimacy that feels earned. The slow-burn tension, the raw vulnerability, and the moments where Jesse tries to push her away only for Kayla to stand her ground—it’s everything.
By the time Jesse lets his walls down and admits he’s terrified to be loved? I was gone. Like ugly crying at 2am level gone.

Synopsis (SPOILERS AHEAD)
Chosen by a Sinner is the second standalone in Michelle Heard’s Sinners series, and trust me—you’ll want to be claimed next. This book is a full-on dark mafia fantasy with all the tropes: arranged marriage, grumpy/protective alpha, virgin heroine, and obsession that borders on worship.
Alexei Koslov doesn’t do love. He does power. Control. Loyalty. And when he agrees to marry the youngest Vetrov sister, Aurora, to strengthen the alliance between their crime show more families, he treats it like a business transaction.
Until he meets her.
Aurora is not what he expected. Sweet, innocent, with a quiet strength that starts to rattle every wall Alexei has ever built. He tries to stay distant, to keep things cold and professional—but nope. From the moment he sees her, she becomes his everything.
And when I say Alexei is protective? I mean: "I would kill the world and make you queen of the ashes" levels of protective.
Their dynamic is chef’s kiss. He’s older, dominant, and a little terrifying. She’s younger, pure-hearted, but with this quiet fire that makes him feral. He says she’s his wife on paper—but his actions say mine in every sense.
What makes this book so good is the emotional arc. Alexei falls hard. He softens, he aches, he yearns. And Aurora? She finds her power in a world built to swallow her whole.
The wedding night? ICONIC. The slow build of trust? HEART MELTING. The way Alexei literally loses his mind over her purity and bravery? I. Was. Unwell.

Synopsis (SPOILERS AHEAD)
Captured by a Sinner is a dark mafia romance that kicks off the Sinners series with a bang—and by bang, I mean abduction, obsession, and unapologetic alpha energy.
This is Maksim Vetrov’s story. And let me just say… if you like your heroes morally grey (actually, more like jet black), this man will do things to you. He’s cold. Calculated. Deadly. And obsessed with one thing: Carla Reyes—the daughter of his enemy.
Carla is a pawn in a decades-long war between show more mafia families. But to Maksim? She’s everything. So what does he do? He takes her. Literally.
He captures her. Locks her away in a beautiful prison. And swears to break her until she belongs to him in every way.
But here’s the twist: Carla may be scared, but she’s not weak. And as the story unfolds, she slowly turns the game around on Maksim. What starts as captivity becomes connection, and what begins as hate burns into obsession. The tension between them is thick enough to cut with a knife—and when it finally snaps, it’s primal.
The dynamic is gritty, twisted, and very much “I hate you—but I want you even more.” And the moment Maksim realizes Carla isn't just a possession—but the one person who sees him? DONE. I ascended.
Yes, it’s dark. Yes, it’s intense. But underneath all the danger and dominance is a love story that’s about two broken people who find peace in each other’s chaos.
