I should have DNF'd this the first time one of the MCs scrambled through an epiphany about the curse and the author lost me--that's on me. I liked the characters, disliked the revelation, and left disappointed; and I had hints, but I'd hoped. Oh well. The important part, review readers, is that I did finish it, it was good enough for that, and for you may be a better fit.
