This story is so cute, and I LOVE the illustrations. They remind me of some cartoons, and so did the way the story is presented. I know I'm way outside the target audience range, but it was so fun to read. I had to laugh a little, because whenever things go missing or are misplaced, we say the fairies took it. Henderson did an amazing job creating an engaging story, and I only have one complaint - I need more Key and Zan! I look forward to seeing more of their adventures in the future. I show more can't recommend this enough whether you're young, or young at heart, if you appreciate fun, cute graphic novels, you'll love this! show less
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Yolk's on Me is a delightful read about Mauve. She's filled with spunk, talent, and a world inside of her that she can't wait to share with others.
The beauty of this character is that she tugs at your heart and works your nerve all at once. You will know exactly what I am referring to when you read the book.
I can definitely see another book about Mauve, as she is filled with so much more to explore. Right now, she is navigating school, her identity, and how that relates to others.
Great show more read. Grateful that I had the opportunity to do so. show less

YOLK'S ON ME is a bright, funny short story about an attention-seeking character named Mauve. Mauve encounters social embarrassment as a result of her actions and must decide whether being true to herself is the price she wishes to pay to achieve her other goals.
This is an approachable story for teens, featuring diverse characters and a bold voice. Lots of fun to read!

A short story about a teenage girl called Mauve who is determined to make an impression.
This is a great concept that I'm sure many young teens would relate to in regards to seeking attention and acceptance from peers.
The writing itself is of a 'busy' style and personally I found it to be a little chaotic for my liking.
The actual story could have done with a bit more substance throughout, and I also felt it could have had a stronger ending with possibly some sort of moral in regards to the show more importance of self-respect and confidence.
However, in all it is still an entertaining book that just requires a little refinement. show less
