Roy Harris was born December 9, 1915, in south Missouri, and grew up in the Ozark Mountain country, famed all over the earth for its scenic beauty. Amidst these rugged hills, through the faithful efforts of a Christian father and mother, he came to have a reverence for the God who controls both nature and spirit. possessed of a love for song, he prepared himself for increasing the interest in that phase of the worship, He is a graduate of the Stamps-Baxter School of Music at Dallas, Texas, and is a composer of several songs the latest being "Hilltops Of Glory". Approximately three years ago, he was persuaded by the elders of his home congregation to take up evangelistic work. Since that time he has attended two protracted Bible Studies at Saint Louis and has preached the truth in Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado. - Birthplace
