As someone who would genuinely take a bullet for my dogs, this book touched me in a way few others have. Dogs and Their Humans is far more than just a collection of veterinary success stories—it’s a deeply emotional journey through love, loss, resilience, and the powerful bond we share with our animals.
Noel Fitzpatrick writes with so much compassion and wisdom. You can feel how much he truly sees the animals in his care—not just as patients, but as family members, soulmates, and show more lifelines. The stories are raw and moving—some made me cry, others filled me with hope—but all of them reminded me why our dogs mean the absolute world to us.
Whether you’re a lifelong dog owner, grieving a beloved pet, or just someone who understands that animals often rescue us more than we rescue them—this book is for you.
Noel’s love for his work and for every animal that crosses his path radiates from every page. A must-read for anyone who believes that dogs aren’t just pets—they’re part of who we are. show less

I have never seen the Supervet television programme. We are brought into a world of surgery on companion animals where vets refer cases to specialists who carry out necessarily expensive operations. I am a bit uneasy about devoting resources in this way, but then I have never had an animal for whom complicated surgery was an option. We learn a lot about the author's life and operations are described with anatomical terms which most of us find pretty meaningless.
