The original play is fine, it is theatrical in the sense that it's hard to grasp the impact of several scenes without staging. It's hard to find plays that don't look like all other plays. There's also good use of a chorus device. Psychology and violence and sex and religion are all really thick themes, and here they're blended very seamlessly so that all feel the impossible problem. That's a powerful feeling, but that also requires some kind of conclusion to really be a lasting one. Mostly, show more though, we just get here some 1970s angst, which is different from an ending. But maybe thanks to its intellectual shock in 1973 the play could be turned into mainstream cinema. show less
